The Region II Student Conference will take place in Huntsville, AL on April 4 - April 5, 2020. Students from all the regional universities are encouraged to submit papers and attend this great showcase of academic talent.

Categories
Technical Paper/Individual Competition: One or two students may prepare and/or present a paper at the AIAA student conference. Your paper should be prepared according to AIAA Manuscript Preparation Kit. Information for authors and a template can be found on the AIAA website, Author Resources. Complete Individual Competition rules can be found here.
Team Competition: The official team competition will follow the same rules and guidelines as the individual paper competition. See the Individual Competition Rules page for details. The primary difference for the team competition is that a presenting team consists of three to ten student members.
Open Topic (Freshmen and Sophomore): The goal of this category is to provide experience in a paper competition without requiring the submissions to be held to the level of technical depth of the technical paper competition. An example topic would be the history of the Wright brothers.
Exhibition Presentations: Exhibition presentations allow students to present their work even if they have not had time to complete a technical paper. This allows the student to still participate at the conference as a presenter but they are not judged and therefore cannot "win" the competition. We do however ask the judges to write comments about the exhibition presentations.
Community Outreach: This category is a 1-page talking-paper and 10 minute presentation in which students describe activities where they mentored high school (or lower level) students. Only one paper should be submitted for each outreach program at each student branch.
